Commendation For CANSEC Instructors

CANSEC Instructors Respond to Emergency

We are very proud of two of our Use of Force/DEFENSE Control Tactics Instructors, Al Grose and Simon Langler who on their way to teach a class today came upon a fresh head-on, high-speed mvc, including a fatality and injuries. Like true professionals (and former Police Officers), they rose to the occasion and gave comfort, leadership and incident command. Well done gentleman!

Moving Forward Through COVID-19

Safety Starts With Precautions

So where do we go from here?  Regardless of what Sector you work in.  We live in a NEW era.  One, that Workers, Supervisors, Employers and Clients must get used to.  Things are will continue to be different.

In many ways, implementing new COVID-19 Policies and Procedures is a good test of every company's Emergency Response Plan (ERP).  In particular, Business Continuity planning and Communications.

Things will be very different for a long time.  The key to navigating the COVID-19 pandemic is planning.  Both operational and financial.  As well as Employee wellness.  It will take a lot of patience and out-of-the-box thinking.  A true test to Team performance and co-operation under the IRS.

COVID-19

Safety Starts With Precautions

As we all face the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important to remember that your safety starts with taking basic safety precautions.  While it is a very serious situation, it is also important not to panic.  Ensure you and your family follow instructions given out by qualified medical and health professionals.  This includes washing your hands thoroughly, self-isolating, where possible, and maintaining social distancing.

It is also very important to remember to have a plan for cooking and preparing meals, getting prescriptions and keeping the kids entertained.  None of this requires panic buying.  To get through this, we must all remain calm and work as a team.  It is not necessary nor helpful for anyone to go panic shopping and clear shelves of necessities.  We are in this together.

So, ensure you self-monitor.  If you have any symptoms, do not go directly to the Walk-In clinic or Emergency unless it is a real emergency.  Contact your local Public Health unit and they will screen you over the phone and provide direction.  Stay healthy, stay isolated and don't forget to phone and check-in on family and friends.  We're in this together!
